Cracked Glass Technique and Colour Throwdown # 29
Good afternoon all,I have a technique card for you today, there are so many techniques I want to try and just don't get a chance to do it.Well, last night I decided I was going to try the cracked glass technique,I have been wanting to do this for such a long time now. I had so much fun, I will be doing alot more of these in the future, though I think I should start buying bulk of the clear embossing powder. It is quite simple,I started with a small piece of cardstock for my first attempt and stamped what I wanted onto it.When you have completed that, use your versamark inkpad and cover the entire piece of cardstock and then sprinkle on your clear embossing powder, shake off the excess and heat set.You have to work quickly, while still hot sprinkle more clear embossing powder over the top shake off excess again and heat set.You can do this as many times as you like,I did about 8 coats for fine cracks and you may need to do 12 or more coats for thicker more noticeable cracks.Once you have the desired coverage, put it in the freezer for about 2 minutes, get it out and bend the cardstock it will start to crack. If you want more cracks and you can't get anymore, try putting it back in the freezer and bend the cardstock again.I wanted fine cracks for this card as I thought it looked more delicate for my card.I had a hard time taking a photo as I kept getting flashback from the embossing powder,so I took the photograph without the flash. You cannot see all of the cracks but you do get an idea.If you have any questions,I would be happy to answer. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
